This series of sketches was conceived by experimenting with the visual meaning and archetype of the tower.
The female body like a pillar holds up the celestial skies and the stars which sailors and Bedouins believed to be lighthouses to guide them out of the dark night.
The heavy burden traditionally carried by the male figure of the Atlas is here revisited as something more aerial and being at one with the female figure.
